The engagement is a win! Our biggest need was providing a stronger foundation for our smaller family company. While growing over the last several years, we as owners jumped in and DID whatever was needed to complete the operation, which required us to wear multiple hats several times a day.

Over the past six to seven weeks, Rick has worked closely with the management team achieving remarkable progress in multiple areas. With Rick’s guidance, we have successfully built a brand, which previously did not exist. This lack of branding
was identified as a critical factor that cost the company a $40+ million project slated for 2024.
During this engagement period, we significantly improved company-wide communication across divisions—an increase we estimate to be nearly 100-fold. Through a “Burn Sheet” process, we uncovered opportunities for improvement valued at hundreds of thousands of dollars across various areas of the company. Of the issues we identified, 80–90% were validated as critical, requiring correction.
Additionally, we recognized the importance of using financial data to drive management
decisions. With Rick’s support, we facilitated a leadership restructuring that transitioned me to the role of CEO. This shift ensures the long-term sustainability of the changes introduced and aligns the company with its future revenue goals.
Rick also emphasized the value of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for project
superintendents and the management team. This initiative alone is projected to increase net profit by approximately $500,000. Furthermore, Rick presented multiple succession plans tothe ownership team, guiding us to select a structure that guarantees the company’s viability for decades to come.
